Hey
guys!
Do
you know that Rock-Paper-Scissors was started in 206 BC - 220 AD
in the Chinese Han Dynasty? The game at that time was called as
Stone-Paper-Scissors or shoushiling.
But game became popular in Japan in 18th century, which was known as janken, Ishiken or rock
ken.
I
was thinking about The Big Bang Theory episode 8 in season 2 The Lizard-Spock
Expansion, can it be possible or true? Let's think about it, may be.. It is possible that a
Rock-Paper-Scissors (The game is also known as roshambo) can be extended to Lizard-Spock. Why don't we go into history of this game?
Centuries’ old game had its modified version in 1998 on a
website by Sam Kass. After some additions in the game, Sam Kass called it Rock-Paper-Scissors-Spock-Lizard. The
Times in 2005 mentioned about the game, also USA Rock-Paper-Scissors League sponsored by Bud Light, started in April 2006, the inaugural
USARPS Championship was held in Las Vegas, there are other tournaments
and championships which were held in other countries like UK and there was even Guinness Book of World Records. But
the five-weapon expansion game came with a bang in The Big Bang Theory in
2008, when Dr. Sheldon Cooper explained the game, although when he starts to speak I
feel will he ever stop but he gave a perfect explanation for this game, which is
as follows; Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard
poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard, lizard eats
paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has, rock
crushes scissors. Although Dr. Sheldon Cooper again uses this game in 2012
episode "The Rothman Disintegration".
And I thought that the
game was for little fun. It had a whole lot of history from 206 BC, I didn’t even imaged
that this simple game would have tournaments and championships. I wish, I
would have taken it seriously in my childhood, who knows my name was there in Guinness Book of World Records.
